You wish to feel free? Work at elevating your thoughts and feelings, for true freedom is inner freedom. Of course, it is preferable to be free to move on the physical plane, too, but consider that freedom as secondary. The only freedom worth aspiring to is inner freedom… Seek wisdom, love, truth, justice and kindness instead, for then, wherever you are and whatever the circumstances, you will feel free.
~Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov
The above deep esoteric truth resonates with me as I too believe that freedom is in the mind. As long as we remain free within, no cage and no chain outside can ever bind us or defeat us. We can draw inspiration from inspirational characters such as Jesus and Buddha who managed to find inner freedom even as they sought outer freedom (for themselves and others) from the system of the world. Similarly, when we see through the illusion and know who we really are, we will rest in the truth that all that we need is within us – wisdom, kindness, love, joy, peace. No chaos or prison or religion or politics or “illuminati” etc can steal our inner freedom because the true kingdom is within each of us. Whenever we feel fearful, we can always reacquaint ourselves fully with the truth.
